The Vineyard - Langford Community Land

Land for many years in the hands of The Church Commissioners is now in the hands of Langford Villagers. Its up to us all to maximise its use for the benefit of our Community.

Vineyard Volunteers

Langford Parish Council have delegated the management and use of The Vineyard to a Foundation CIO (A Charity – as the Village Hall) called Langford Community Land CIO aka “The Vineyard”.

The Langford Community Land CIO will play a similar role to the Village Hall Committee, running their own accounts and deciding how to maximise use of the land for the village. They will be responsible for maintenance, installations, planting, projects that use the land and bookings for use.

The Purchase of The Vineyard by Langford Parish Council took place in Feb 2025.

All Parishioners were consulted.  We had 284 Parishioners on the Electoral Roll (as of March 2023). 101 Parishioners submitted survey returns. Of these 84 said Yes, 17 said No.

Our short term goals are to form a vision plan for the area, obtain a drop kerb application to enable access from the road, set up charitable status, set up an independent group that reports back to the Parish Council and to build excitement about the potential of the land within the village.
