Village Day 2021 An Awesome Day!
Our second Village Show took place on Saturday 4th September 2021.
The late summer sun made an appearance and lots of people came out to see what fun we had organised for them.
A huge village wide effort created an array of activities to all to enjoy.

Here’s what happened….
Our second Langford Village Day: a reinvented village fete with lots to get involved in. Entry was free.
In the afternoon, from 1-5pm, we hosted a Dog Show and lots of stalls and activities in the field across from St Matthew’s Church (GL7 3LR). We had Bowling for a Pig (well, some pork actually), Chicken Chucking (plastic ones!), a Vortex competition, apple bobbing, face painting, and much more. Refreshments were provided in the tea tent, burger bar and “Shandy Shack”.
In the church gardeners, bakers & makers, young and old competed in the Produce Show. See our Produce Show page about who had the longest runner bean or prize-winning lemon drizzle cake. Children also got involved with baking and artwork classes.
The 2021 Dog Show saw 7 fun rounds:
1.15pm Musical Mats
1.25pm Egg & Spoon
1.35pm Waggiest Tail
1.45pm Catch the Sausage
1.55pm Best Trick
2.05pm Scruffiest Dog
2.15pm Prettiest Bitch
2.25pm Handsomist Dog
2.32pm Best in Show
3.00pm Agility round
In the evening from 5.15pm in the field, food from The Bell and free live music from the ceilidh band entertained us with a very special appearance from The Voice Kids artist Lilly Hobbs.
Something for everyone, a truly lovely Langford occasion!
This show is organised by a committee of non-elected volunteers from various organisations.
