Langford Cricket Club is over 100 years old and is a central part of village life. It’s a place where people gather of course to play and watch competitive sport but also to have fun and socialise. It boasts adult, youth sides and a great facilities which is the envy of much larger clubs.

It boasts six adult teams, four youth sides and a great nets facility which is the envy of much larger clubs.
Langford Cricket Club has something to suit everyone, whether you’re interested in social or competitive cricket, or just want to get together with people at your local club.
We are always keen to welcome new members – so checkout the options open to you.
After a fantastic few years at the ‘Elms Bowl’, we now have enough players to run 1st 2nd and 3rd XI men’s teams.
We have a ladies’ team…which plays extremely friendly cricket in a competitive T20 Cotswold league. If you’re a sporty woman looking to try your hand at cricket for the first time – or an experienced player, this is a perfect team for you.
We boast a Langford Casuals XI, who play only friendly fixtures. This team is aimed at adults who are looking for social cricket of any standard, including those who have never played before!
Last but by no means least we run a fantastic junior set-up – with under 9, 11 and 13s and 15s teams receiving masses of training and lots of match opportunities.
The Club is also extremely social too. For instance the bar is always open and the barbecue fired up on our Friday training nights during the season. At these nights, while often well over 100 kids gather to do their cricket training, parents and many of Langford’s villagers gather to socialise.
The Club also runs a hugely successful Beer Festival, fun 6-a-side tournaments and an array of fundraisers.

What’s on @ LCC this week
The weather looks set to cool down a little this week, so we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for plenty of cricket and maximum game time over the days ahead.
There’s another busy week at the club with a packed schedule of matches and social events for members, supporters and visitors to enjoy. Whether you’re cheering from the boundary, catching up with friends at the bar, or simply spending time at the club, there’s plenty going on.
Friday 26th June
Junior Training Night – from 5pm
With the weather taking a slightly cooler turn and the odd shower possible, we’re keeping everything crossed for plenty of cricket this evening.
Our young cricketers will be enjoying expert coaching from our fantastic volunteers and the team from Gecko Cricket, while off the field the BBQ will be fired up, the bar will be open, and the club will be buzzing with activity.
From 5pm, come down, bring the family, grab a drink, and enjoy another great evening at the club. Whatever the weather, there’s always a warm welcome waiting. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday 27th June
1s away vs Hawkesbury 1s (12 noon)
The 1s are traveling to Hawkesbury a side who we know very well. Unfortunately we are without Ian who took his first 5 wicket hall for the club last week in the win over Cheltenham.
Special mention for Tom Stevens breaking through the 7000 run barrier for LCC.
A truly amazing achievement.
2s home vs Goodrich 1s (1pm)
The 2s will look to keep their strong home record in tact as the welcome Goodrich who travel from the Forest of Dean. Last week the 2s struggled and the least said about that the better.
3s home (Lechlade) vs Great Rissington 2s (1pm)
A strong 3s team welcome Rissington to Lechlade. Last week Sam Bonner took 4 wickets in the loss to Charlton’s kings.
All back to the club for the England football match later in the evening.
Sunday 28th June
1st XI Ladies vs Chipping Campden (3pm)
Following their victory against Bourton Vale our women’s team has two tasty away fixtures this week starting with a trip to Chipping Campden.
Monday 29th June
LCC Casuals vs Butchers (Home 6pm)
The mighty casuals take on the butchers with talk of a BBQ and a few drinks after the game. Come down and enjoy what is always a fun evening.
Tuesday 30th June
1st XI Ladies vs Tetbury (6pm)
With their second game of the week the ladies are hoping it will be two wins from two away at Tetbury.
T20 home vs Wolvercote (6pm)
The t20 side host Wovercote. Bound to be a lot of fun! Wolvercote haven’t won a game yet so fingers crossed we keep it that way!

General Information:
Whilst we always welcome guests and members of the community to the club, if you want to join the club then please do sign up to our Social Membership for just £15 – the link to the form is here.
As we did last year, each week we will send out an overview of what is happening at the club that week, in the hope that as many people come down and engage with different aspects of the club. Please note – we always welcome members who aren’t directly involved in a game to use the nets during matches.
The main times the nets are unavailable is on training evenings and Saturday’s from 11am-1pm (reserved for Saturday league matches warm-ups).

Housekeeping
As a housekeeping point please note that during training times, the nets will be occupied and there will be no nets available for ‘walk-ins’. However, during matches, you are more than welcome to come down and use the nets whilst the game is on and make an afternoon/evening of it! Players will often warm up in one net, but there should always be one free for walk-ins (providing you’ve completed a social membership form).
