OPEN GARDENS 2022

Open Gardens 2022

Here we look back at the Open Gardens in 2022

2022 REPORT

Sunday 12th June 2022
This year’s Gardens Sunday saw 24 gardens and their owners looking their fabulous best on a sunny but not too hot day, perfect for welcoming visitors to the village.

The car park saw it’s first early arrivals just after 1pm, the Teas venues of Village Hall and Pember Thatch were buzzing as tables were loaded with scrumptious cakes ready for the first customers. Cars zoomed up, our trusty parking attendants managed the arrivals and the gate payments flowed in. The pressure increased hugely when two unexpected coaches added to the throng.

In all we welcomed almost 500 visitors and in total raised £6000 for both The National Gardens Scheme and St Matthew’s Fabric and Maintenance Fund.

Huge thanks to all the garden owners and to all those who contributed their help and support on the day. The Raffle, Plant Stall, The Cake Stall and The Teas at both venues raised a total of just under £2800 for St Matthew’s. The PCC are very grateful as some very expensive roof repairs are needed. NGS charities are mostly to support cancer patients with treatment and care. As a small village we should be very proud of ourselves in doing so much.
