VACANCY ON THE PARISH COUNCIL

There is a vacancy on the Parish Council – Ian Corrigan is stepping down as he and Ann are moving to Somerset. We are very grateful to them both – Ian as Councillor and Ann as Clerk – for their contributions to the Parish Council over a number of years.

If anyone is interested in becoming a Parish Councillor do please email me, either to put your name forward or to find out more about what is involved – richard@langfordparishcouncil.com

The PC has 5 councillors in total, plus the Clerk – currently the councillors are Mark Harris, Andrew Clemons, Ian Burton and myself, Caroline Parsons is about to take over as Clerk. The PC meets formally 6 times a year on a Thursday evening. In addition to that councillors are normally involved in a number of PC or village activities.

For a vacancy mid-term the Parish Council would normally fill the position by co-option. However, if 10 or more parishioners request an election then that would happen in May – for more information on this please see the Village Hall noticeboard.

Richard Kemp,
Chair, Langford Parish Council
