This month’s “Where was this taken?” is a hard one. The clue is in the activity – you might be able to match that to a couple of house names. Incidentally the man in the boiler suit is Bill Print.

Last month’s photo was taken from the field opposite Leys View, looking towards the main part of the village. You can see the church tower just behind the rear of Rectory Farm. Lower Farm is behind the trees on the right. The barn in the midground is the one Peter & Heather Kirby converted a few years ago (now called “Sunnyside”). What makes it harder to work out is that there are the trees. Before Dutch elm disease that area had lots of elm trees (as did The Closes of course – the cricket pitch field) – all sadly went in with Dutch elm in the 1970s.
