I’m afraid the dreaded virus is still playing havoc with our calendar of events. We have had to cancel or postpone indoor things coming up in the next month or so, but we’re hoping events nearer Christmas may be possible – fingers crossed. Here’s the latest position:
Village Day, Produce show and evening Celidh – Sept 5
Cancelled
Village Picnic – Sunday September 6
Bring your own picnic to the cricket field between 3 and 5 o’clock
Ride & Stride – September 12
Still going ahead
Harvest Festival & Lunch – October 4
Replaced – Help at Harvest Time instead (see separate post for details)
Jumble Sale – October 17
Postponed until the spring
Bingo – November 20
Cancelled
Craft Fayre – November 29
Cancelled
Christmas Market – December 5
The Christmas Market in the church is unfortunately cancelled, but The Bell team is hoping to hold some farmer’s markets at the pub – more news to follow on this
Carols by Candlelight – Sunday December 13
Cancelled
Village Carol Singing – Tuesday December 22
Instead of our normal house to house carol singing we are inviting people to join in a village carol singing around the Christmas Tree at the War Memorial, where we can all be socially distanced. Mulled wine, mince pies and other goodies courtesy of The Bell (for which many thanks). Starting at 6pm – and bring a torch please! We will take a collection in aid of St Matthew’s if you are happy to donate
Midnight Service – Christmas Eve 11.15pm
We are delighted to be able to continue the Langford tradition of a Christmas Eve midnight service – more details on this website
