I’m delighted to report that the pair of benches in memory of Colin “Joey” Gibbard are now in place at the entrance to The Elms. The family was there last Sunday to unveil the benches at a simple ceremony. The dedication on the benches reads “This pair of benches were donated by the people of Langford in fond memory of Colin “Joey” Gibbard (1943-2021).
The photo shows Joey’s sister Linda and his nephew Sean trying out one of the benches. In the background is the house where Joey lived – and it’s a pleasure to report that Linda is now living there to keep the connection going.
