From the Langford Legacy
For a few years now the Langford Legacy has been offering grants to anyone in the village who needs help towards the cost of their winter heating. One of the original historic legacies in Langford was the “Coal Charity”, which distributed coal to families in need, so we are pleased to carry on this legacy in a modern form.
We feel our main focus this year must be on supporting pensioners who may be finding things a difficult due to the changes in the government’s Winter Fuel Allowance scheme– far fewer pensioners will receive any allowance this year.
So we are offering 3 levels of grant:
- £150 to any household including a pensioner aged over 80
- £100 to any household including a pensioner aged 65-79
- £50 to any household not including a pensioner
The grants are available to any household which feels that it needs help in meeting their heating costs this winter. A grant can be claimed, in confidence, simply by:
- Either emailing thelangfordlegacy@gmail.com with your name and address, plus your bank details (account name, sort code, account number)
- Or by giving us your bank details by writing to The Langford Legacy, Baytree Cottage, Langford GL7 3LF
- In your email or letter say which grant you are claiming – (A), (B) OR (C)
