Proposed Solar/Energy Development – COMMUNITY MEETING MONDAY 28 SEP 19:30

You are invited to join a Community Meeting on the proposed “West Oxfordshire Energy Park”
Monday 28 September 19:30 at Langford Village Hall
Thank you to all that have replied to our recent Parish Council email and door drop about the proposed West Oxfordshire Energy Park. We have received many responses from residents, including offers of expertise, time and contacts, which is fantastic! We now invite everyone to a community meeting to discuss in person.
Why are we meeting?
The proposed development could have significant and long-term implications for our community. It is important that everyone has the opportunity to be heard, contribute and help shape our collective approach. We will facilitate a light agenda, but encourage group participation in shaping our next steps.
The meeting will provide an opportunity to:
- Share information: Recap the proposal, what we know so far, what remains unanswered and the planning and consultation process ahead.
- Hear from you: Understand your views, concerns, priorities and questions, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to contribute.
- Bring together expertise: Identify residents willing to help, including those with relevant professional experience, knowledge or contacts. Several residents have already offered their support, and we welcome others.
- Discuss our approach: Consider how we organise ourselves, establish roles and responsibilities, co-ordinate with neighbouring parishes and engage with the developer and other relevant organisations.
- Agree next steps: Explore establishing a smaller community working group, develop a timeline of actions and agree how we keep everyone informed and involved throughout.
In the meantime, several of us are working behind the scenes seeking input from various sources on planning law, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and external sources of funding and support. We are trying to better understand the process and levers available to us. If you have relevant expertise or contacts, please do let us know as soon as possible.
Working together across our communities
We are already engaging with neighbouring Parish Councils and will continue to share information and coordinate our approaches. We are attempting to make the best use of our collective knowledge, ensure that similar questions and concerns that are arising from several sources are properly examined, and help our communities navigate the process.

Whether you have specific concerns, questions, expertise to offer, or simply want to understand more, we encourage you to attend. This is an opportunity to listen, ask questions, share ideas and participate to shape how our community moves forward.
