WHERE THINGS STAND ON THE VINEYARD
The Parish Council would like to let you know where things stand on The Vineyard, and its possible purchase.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the consultation exercise.
We had a very good response with 101 replies, of which 84 were in favour and 17 against trying to buy the land for the village.
On the basis of this strong support we have gone ahead to try and buy The Vineyard, though as expected it is proving quite a slow process.
We have agreed what we think is a fair price with the vendor, and at the moment we are waiting for the vendor’s solicitor to get back to us on the heads of terms we are agreeing.
The loan from the Public Works Loan Board is in train, and so we are hoping that the purchase can be wrapped up sometime in the autumn.
As soon as we have more definite information we will let you know.
