The Village Hall
We are lucky to have such a great resource for our local community. The Village Hall is available to hire for short term meetings, parties and for regular events or group activities. A clean, modern, flexible space with ultrafast broadband and a domestic kitchen.
Village Hall History
A village hall has been present on the same site in Langford since 1924. The original land was donated to the village by George Liddiard of Faringdon. In July 1923 the contractor George W King was instructed to erect a complete timber built village hall for the total sum of £230! In 1998 a campaign was started to construct a new village hall. At the end of 2000 the village hall as it is today opened. We are lucky to have such a great resource for our local community. The Village Hall is available to hire for short term meetings, parties and for regular events or group activities.Hall Facilities
The main hall space is a clean, modern, flexible space with a light spacious atmosphere. A domestic kitchen is well equipped and parking is available on the street. The building has ramped access with modern toilets and there are a host of chairs and tables for different room layouts. The hall has high speed internet connection, which all users can access – connection is simple and the password details are in the entrance area. We are very grateful to our provider Gigaclear, who as part of their community involvement programme, provide this service free of charge to the village hall.
The main hall is 15.8 by 6.0 metres and approximately 2.8 metres to the underside of the roof truss ties. The kitchen is a standard domestic kitchen 6.0 by 2.4 metres with commercial dishwasher. The hall has been fitted with a picture hanging rail for exhibitions. For a plan and section of the building click the link: VH plan & section
