Village Day 2019
Our first Village Show took place on Saturday 7th September 2019.
We didn’t know if people would turn up? But the response was fantastic and everyone remarked on what a success the day had been. Something we will want to repeat!
Our first village day!
Our first Village Day on 7 September 2019 was a great success, with both the afternoon activities and evening Ceilidh thoroughly enjoyed by all. Very many thanks to everyone who helped and contributed before and on the day – my apologies but too many people to mention all of you by name.
I must make special mention of the great work by Rowan Harris to organise the Produce Show, to Tom Marshall for all his work running the Dog Show, and to Tim Redston for organising the Classic Car display.
The main aim of the day was for everyone to have an enjoyable afternoon and evening, and I think we certainly achieved that. The bonus is that we also raised £1000 which will be shared between the Village Hall, St Matthew’s and the Cricket Club.
Finally I must pay tribute to the members of the Village Day Committee who organised the whole event brilliantly – Nicky Marshall, Sharron Emory, Mark Harris, Jane Stevens and Claire Harrington.
This show is organised by a committee of non-elected volunteers from various organisations.
